It is a short trek which gives you the pleasures of camping in deep jungle. The route to Urgam valley takes off from Helang on the Chamoli Joshimath route. It is 12 Kms from Helang. The temple of Kalpeshwar is situated here at the end of the valley. According to the legends, the hair of Lord Shiva appeared here when he tried to flee from the Pandava\u2019s at Kedarnath. The temple is on the other side of the river and we continue for some time on the road going above the temple. After some walking we reach the point where the trail starts. It is a small trail and climbs up in a zigzag way. Initially we are moving through grass slopes and some trees are visible on top. Keep climbing towards the trees. Finally we reach the jungle on our left and some plain place, which is Aseli Kharak. Sit and enjoying the beautiful Urgam valley spread below. The fitter you are, the more enjoyable your trekking experience will be. It is recommended to invest time in activities such as walking, jogging, stretching, cardio exercises, and strength training before you participate in any adventure activities.
