1 Delhi Devaprayag (813 m) 12 hr By train upto Haridwar and then by vehicle via Rishikesh. Stay at GMVN TRH. Visit the sangam of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers.
2 Devaprayag (813 m) Joshimath (1398 m) 10 hr By vehicle via Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karanprayag, Nandprayag, Chamoli and Pipalkoti. Reach Joshimath and next day get the pass issued from the forest department. Stay in GMVN TRH/ Hotel.
3 Joshimath(1398 m) Camping ground above Panka village (2450 m) 03 hr By vehicle upto the road head and then by walk. It is best to go upto Govindghat if someone wants to see the Gurudwara and then return back to the road head as there is practically nothing to do at the village. Afternoon climb upto the village and then move ahead for one hour to the open place where one can set up the camp. Stay in tents.
4 Camping ground above Panka village (2450 m) Solu Dhar Camp
(3500 m)
09 hr By walk. The trail is good and zigzag's along one side of the mountain. It is more or less climbing up. This goes on till you are nearing the trees on your right. There cross over to the other side of the mountain and keep climbing up. Then again switch tothe left side and reach the narrow gully. Reach the ridge and the climb for the day is over. You have climbed 1200 meters. Go down to the platform and set up the camp. Stay in tents.
5 Solu Dhar Camp
(3500 m)
Jari Kharak Camp (4090 m) 08 hr By walk The climb continues today also. However, it is a bit easy. You see the trail long in front of you. First reach Farsan Vinayak and then enter the boulder zone. Thereafter some more climb and you reach the camping ground next to shallow nala. Stay in tents.
6 Jari Kharak Camp (4090 m) Camp beyond KumKum Khal
(4125 m)
05 hr By walk. The climb starts immediately on crossing of the shallow nala. It is along the side of the mountain and slowly on approaches the rock ridge which is visible from the beginning of the days walk. Thereafter the climb continues till one reaches the sharp KumKum Khal (4525 m). The big valley opens in front of you and you head down with the aim of reaching the bid rock face seen on the other side of the valley. The route to the tal goes on the true right of the rock face. Find a suitable flace and camp there. Stay in tents.
7 Camp beyond KumKum Khal (4125 m) 04 hr By walk. Today is the visit to tal. The climb starts keeping the rock face to your right and on top you find the path which is being built. Follow it to your left and reach the Kagbhushandi tal (4390 m). In front you see the path coming down from the other side. Visit the small temple and after spending time there trace your path back to the camp. Stay in tents.
8 Camp beyond KumKum Khal
(4125 m)
Cave Camp (3945 m) 08 hr By walk. The steep climb to KumKum Khal starts and once on top your climb for the day is more or less over. From there on it is all the way down. The Jari Kharak Camping ground will not attract you now and so continue and reach Farsan Vinayak. Relax there and then continue till you reach the caves, where the big platforms have been made. Camp there in tents.
9 Cave Camp (3945 m) Camping ground above Panka village (2450 m) 06 hr By walk. Walking down reach the Solu ridge camping place and continue moving down on the otherside. Reach the open camping ground above the village and camp there.
10 Camping ground above Panka village (2450 m) Joshimath (1398 m) 03 hr By walk reach the village and then the roadhead. From there by vehicle reach Joshimath. Go around seeing the sites at Joshimath. If do not want to stay in Joshimath, continue and reach Srinagar and stay there in Hotel.
11 Joshimath (1398 m) Srinagar (579 m) 06 hr By vehicle via Gopeshwar, Chamoli, Nandprayag, Karanprayag and Rudraprayag.. Stay in GMVN TRH/ Hotel.
12 Srinagar (579 m) Delhi 10 hr By vehicle to Haridwar via Devaprayag and Rishikesh. From there by train.
