Today is the first day
of the trek so move slowly and for a short distance. Up to Selapani go by
vehicle. Form there start the walk and reach the first village of Dumma on a down
hill slope, then reach Jimmy ghat. Finally reach Lilam and keep to the left
trail. Stay in Hotel/ PWD GH/ tent near the temple. |

By walk. The climb starts
straight out of Lilam and reaches the trail visible from Lilam. Then it is
more or less flat trail. At the waterfall right on the trail take all
precautions and cross it fast. The trail turns right along the river and then passes under
the big stones. Some up and down and one climb latter you get in site of
Rargari. Stop for lunch and enjoy the river which flows near by. Cross
the stream coming from left and climb up the trail and reach the
destination of the day. Stay in Hotel/ PWD GH/ tent. |

By walk. The flat trail
starts out of Bog Udiyar and crossing the stream coming from Poting
glacier one reaches the helipad. The trail starts to climb and then you
reach a tea shop. continue further and climb up a flight of stairs one
reaches the tea shop at Nahar Devi. The trail moves down to the river and
moves below cliffs. Crossing a small temple one reaches the point where
the path has been cut under the rock. Some more climb and then you cross
the Mapang where the survey for Hydro Electric Station is in progress.
Some more up and down and then following a level trail one reaches the
stream coming from left. Cross it and a very short climb latter you are at
Rilkot. Stay at village house/ Tent.

By walk. Today the
trail is through the rain shadow zone and is above tree line. After a flat
walk above the river one reaches the waterfall and then the climb to the
old Rilkot starts. Further ahead the trail is more or less level. Other
side of the river the deserted village of Sumdu stands from where the
trail to Ralam goes over the Birjeganj Dhura. After sometime the trail
splits and take the lower going down to Lawn gad. The upper trail is
going to Martoli village which is some 2 km away. The trail climbs up
across the Lawn gad and then following the Gori river reach the solitary
hut, from where the trail again splits. Take the one going across the Gori
and climbing up to Burphu village. The straight trail without crossing of
Gori river goes to Panchhu and Ganghar villages. Have some rest and then
proceed towards Milam. walking over level trail reach the stream coming
from left and cross it and climb up to the village of Biljhu from where
you get good view of Trishuli peak. Have tea at the shop running along the
trail and proceed further. As you reach the point opposite to Panchhu
village the Nanda Devi peaks stand before you in all their might. Walk
along the level trail and soon Milam comes into view in distance. Slowly
the trail moves away from Gori and inters the side valley from where
Gunkha gad is flowing. Cross the gad on a bridge and climb up to the level
ground. Short distance away is the check post and beyond it the village of
Milam. A side trail goes to Dung. Stay at PWD GH/ tents. |

Take this as the rest
day cum glacier visit day. The glacier is some 05 km from the village and
shall take one hr to reach. On the way to glacier visit the village and
see for yourself what can happen if the village falls off the trade route.
It's in ruins. Spend time lazing around. More adventurous may visit the
Sandilya and Suraj Kunds for which glacier walking experience and
equipment is a must. Stay at PWD GH/ tents. |

By walk The path is to
be retraced till the Lawn gad. One can give a miss to Burphu village and
take the path directly leading to the bridge over the Gori river. Walking
on the level trail reach the Lawn gad. As you approach the gad a trail
zigzagging all the way to the top is seen on the opposite side. Cross the
gad and take to the zigzag trail and as the climb ends the famous village
of Martoli is in front. Again a ghost village you reach the hotel on the
other side of the village. make arrangements for the stay. Visit the Nanda
Devi temple above the village for excellent view of the Nanda Devi peaks.
As you look back towards Milam Trishuli is seen. Stay at the Hotel/ tents. |

going to walk back on the trail you had taken to moved in. You can spend
time looking around and reach the destination by lunch time. Stay in

the trail going to Poting village and visit the Karbachia tal nearby to
the village. Come back to Bog Udiyar for lunch and after lunch leave for
Lilam. Stop at Rargari for tea and then at the shop over looking Gori
before the waterfall. Cross the waterfall safely and following the slowly
descending trail reach Lilam. Stay in Hotel/ PWD GH/ tent near the temple. |

By walk. In three hours
one will reach the road head at Selapani. Mind you today one would be
climbing up. From Selapani take a jeep to the town. Stay at KMVN/ Hotel.
Visit the Khalia Top which is 11 km from the town for excellent view of
the peaks. Also make arrangements for your moving out next day early
mourning. |
