1 Delhi Leh

02 hr By flight, stay in hotel. No activity today as you have just landed in the rarified atmosphere of Leh.

2 Leh --- Acclimatization day stay in hotel. No movement outside the hotel and no major activity inside.

3 Leh --- Acclimatization day stay in hotel. Small walk around the town in the Bazaar area.

--- Acclimatization day stay in hotel. Today visit to the Leh palace and the Gompa above it to get used to walking in the area.

5 Leh Sasoma
(3000 m)
160 km By vehicle, stay in hotel. Across the Khardung la (5570 m) into the valley of lower Shyok and on to Nubra valley.

6 Sasoma Camp I
(4200 m)
06 hr By walk, stay in tents. Steep climbing up the Tulumputi la and on to the Jhingmoche camping ground.

7 Camp I Camp II
(4600 m)
05 hr By walk, stay in tents. Slowly climb to the meadows of Skyangpoche and then follow the straight trail to the camping ground over looking glaciers.

8 Camp II Camp III
(Tut-yailak)
(4750 m)
05 hr By walk, stay in tents. On a trail which moves on the glacial moraines and has a number of lakes along the way.

9 Camp III
(Tut-yailak)
Camp IV
(4200 m)
06 hr By walk, stay in tents. Climb to Saser la (5395 m) starts immediately after leaving the camp and then descends down to the lake before finally climbing up the glacier to the pass. Steep decent, all the way to the upper Shyok river valley and cross the river over the suspension bridge.

10 Camp IV Chongtash
(4400 m)
05 hr By walk, stay in tents. Follow the trail moving towards the junction of Chongtash nala with Shyok and climb up the trail instead of walking into the gorge. Few km latter the trail goes down to the nala, which is to be crossed by walking and climb up the cliff to the other side. Pleasant walk to the camp.

11 Chongtash Kalon Chumik
(4500 M)
03 hr By walk, stay in tents. The walk is more or less on a level ground. The camp is at a pleasant place with water supply next to it.

12 Kalon Chumik --- Rest day. Good place for rest.

13 Kalon Chumik Camp Burtse
(4700 m)
06 hr By walk, stay in tents. The initial trail is moving down the Murgo gorge to the river bed before climbing up and it is a well marked trail. Cross the Burtse nala a few times and then move along the nala bed till the trail climbs upto the land slide zone and from there another 3 km to the camp.

14 Camp Burtse Qazi Langar
(4800 m)
04 hr By walk, stay in tents. More or less a level walk along the Depsang nala bed and the camp is next to the nala.

15 Qazi Langar Camp Track Jn
(5400 m)
04 hr By walk, stay in tents. The climb to Depsang la (5415 m) starts shortly after the camp. Initially the trail is steep and then it gently rises once in the more broader valley. After the la it is more or less level walking to the Track Junction.

16 Camp Track Jn Camp DBO
(4990 m)
04 hr By walk, stay in tents. There is initial gentle climb for few metres and then all the way down to the DBO across the Chip Chap river.

17 Camp DBO Camp Chiajozilqa
(5200 m)
04 hr By walk, stay in tents. The trail moves behind the DBO and goes along the nala coming from the pass. It first reaches old Polu after 5 km where a new memorial also stands now. The it is along the nala till the camping site.

18 Camp Chiajozilqa Camp DBO
(4990 m)
07 hr By walk, stay in tents. Visit the KK pass (5569 m) walking alone the nala and then taking the trail moving up the side hill to the pass. Then return back to the DBO camp.

19 Camp DBO --- Rest day.

20 Camp DBO Qazi Langar
(4800 m)
08 hr By walk, stay in tents. Climb upto track Junction and then walk along the rough road on the Depsang plains to the Depsang la. Climb down to the camping place.

21 Qazi Langar Camp Burtse
(4700 m)
04 hr By walk, stay in tents. Easy walk along the Depsang nala if not much water is to be crossed. Keep sandals handy.

22 Camp Burtse Kalon Chumik
(4500 m)
06 hr By walk, stay in tents. Initially on the Burtse nala bed and then enter the Murgo gorge to emerge out on the other side to move onto the trail clear of water.

23 Kalon Chumik Camp Shyok river
(4200 m)
06 hr By walk, stay in tents. More or less a level walk and the climbing down to the Upper Shyok river valley. If time permits move on to Saser Brangsa for camping.

24 Camp Shyok river Camp V
(old camp III)
(4750 m)
06 hr By walk, stay in tents. Climb all the way up to Saser la and then move down to the lake before negotiating the second glacier snout to reach Tut-yailak. Again move down further if time permits.

25 Camp V Camp VI
(old camp I)
(4200 m)
06 hr By walk, stay in tents. The trail moves down and is over good ground. Once on the road under construction move along it to reach the first camp on your way up.

26 Camp VI Sasoma
(3000 m)
07 hr By walk, stay in hotel/ tents. Move along the road under construction, taking shortcuts where possible. Once you reach the old path over the big rocks move down to Sasoma along it as new road is very long.

27 Sasoma Leh
(3000 m)
160 km By vehicle, stay in hotel. Enjoy the drive to Leh as it would be evening by the time you reach Leh.

28 Leh --- Take in Leh as much as possible. taking rest can be kept for home.

29 Leh Delhi 02 hr By flight.
