Dorjee

Dorjee my friend of nearly 30 years is an active trekker. Way back in 1978 we met during the trekking camp organised by our university. The love of the mountains kept the channels of communications open and this led to trekking in the Garhwal Himalaya. If he is around I don't bother about anything as it can be taken charge of any situation, without problem. On most of the big treks he was with me and it is due to him that I completed the treks.

Together we did a number of treks and enjoyed the trails and camping in the wilderness all by our self. Well no guide and porters, only what info we gathered from the villages we utilized. The routes we were told were followed. Guide was out of our reach and we did not like following anyone. Now we take porters for carrying camping equipment

Well Dorjee ( Rakesh Panwar) has his stationery shop at Pauri and is always with the mountains. Himalaya is seen from his shop and house and he keeps telling about the snow condition at Buda Madh. He did his Basic and Advance course in Mountaineering from NIM, Uttarkashi and has done a lot of treks and many of them alone.
