By vehicle reach Jhala village just across the Bhagirthi river and get on to the trek right away. A gentle walk of 1 hour or so takes you to the Camping place next to the Sian gad. Stay in tents.

By walk The trek proper now starts. Start moving along the trail next to the gad and then cross it over a log bridge. The trail now moves with the gad on your left and starts to rise. The jungle on the other side of the gad is very dense. After few hours you come across a Gujjar hut and can stop for lunch here. Move ahead and reach the flat section where you can setup camp. Stay in tents.

Riverside Camp

By walk. The trail continues towards the trees which had been visible from the camp. Cross them, the Sian gad is slowly moving away from you. Finally you reach the Gantraro Gad coming from the mountains in front and needs to be crossed. It may be difficult to cross it in the afternoon and so establish the camp on higher ground near to the gad. Stay in tents.

Upper Ratia Camp

By walk. Cross the gad and you are at lower Ratia. Start moving up the trail which now moves into the direction from where Sian gad is flowing from. The trail is moving up all the time. You reach a camping ground on your left, which is middle Ratia. Continue up the trail and reach the campsite at upper Ratia. Stay in tents.

Arjun fall Camp

By walk Today the trail moves towards the glacier from which Sian gad originates and the glacier starts from Kalanag. Don't go on to the glacier. Keep moving towards the ridge. The pass is just to the right of the yellow tooth. The main challenge is below the pass, in climbing up the slabs. In case snow is there it may be easier. There is hardly any place on the top as the ridge is quite narrow. Move down on the other side, keeping to the right. Watch for crevasses. Continue down to reach the camping place just beside the glacier and big crevasses. Stay in tents.

By walk. The walk is along the glacier and you have to look for the trail. Keep to the right. Once you get the trail it is easy going and you reach the camping site without much trouble. Some streams coming from right have to be crossed. Stay in tents.

Ruinsara Tal

03 Hrs

By walk. Moving along the trail passing through the open hill sides, you reach the Tal. Don't cross the tal and camp before it. Enjoy the place. Stay in tents.

By walk. The trail is well marked and passes through scenic country. For this keep looking back. The trail may be covered by tall shrubs and then you have to climb up a jungle trail. Walk together. Once out in the open you can see the trail going towards Har-ki-dun on the other side hill. Seema is not far off. Stay at GMVN.

Sankri

09 Hrs

By walk. Now you are on a village trail and there are people to tell you about the latest. Reach Taluka the road head. If lucky and the roads are intact, take vehicle to reach Sankri. Stay at GMVN TRH.

By vehicle. First reach Purola and from there take vehicle to reach Dehradun. Stay in Hotel.

By Train/ Bus.

Note:

1. The walking days may be changed according to the fitness and walking capabilities of the team members.

2. The road head in this region keeps changing due to land being washed away in landslides.
