Pass-Dodi Tal
A trek from Yamnotri to the
pass taking one to the Ton's river valley. The second leg involved
trekking across the Yamuna at Janki Chatti to Kharsali. The trail
then climbs up the jungle and goes via Sonpara top and Darwa top to
the famous Dodi tal in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.

A high altitude trek taking one from
Bhagirathi river valley to the Tons river valley across high Himalayan
pass. Starts from Jhala village 5 km before Harsil and finishes at
Taluka.

the trek. Starting from Okhimath it passes through the villages of
Uniyana, Ransi and Gaundhar.

It takes you to Helang via Kashni tal (bit of a diversion), Pandosera,
Nandi Kund, Bansi Narayan temple and Kalpeshwar.

Satopanth
This is the trek to Satopanth
peak and not the Satopanth tal. It goes beyond Gaumukh via Nandan
van along the Chaturangi glacier to Vasuki tal below Vasuki parvat
to the base of Satopanth peak. Excellent view if Shivling and Kedar
dome peaks from Nandan van.

The trek starts from Darcha
in Lahoul and passes the villages of Rarig and Chikka before crossing
over the Singo la and reaching the villages of Zanskar in Ladakh.
It passes the villages of Kurgakh, Khee, Kuru, Teta Purne, Kyalbo,
Reru before reaching Padum. A short diversion at Purne takes you to
old and famous Phuktal Gompa built in a huge cave.

This trek shows you that Ladakh
is really a place of passes. You cross nearly six passes before reaching
the road head at Lamayuru. One crosses Parfi la, Haluma la, Kupa la,
Singi la, Bhumtse la, Sirsir la and Prinkiti la. One has the liberty
to terminate the trek at Wanla but it is better to reach Lamayuru.

much problem since all facilities are available till the very end.
It follows the famous Sherpa villages and passes the villages/
camping sites of Lukla,
Phakding, Namche Bazar, Thyangboche, Dingboche, Pheriche,
Lobuje and Gorak Shep.

A trek along one of the oldest
trekking trails in Kumaon Himalaya where old Dak Bungalows still stand
in the service of the present day trekkers. The views of Nanda Devi
East, Nanda Kot, Nanda Khat, Pawali Dwar, Panchail group, Baljori
and Changouh are breathtaking. Khati is the last village on the trail.

trek along the summer route of the caravan from Central Asia to
Ladakh. Also known as the skeleton trails due to large number of
causalities on the route and the trail being littered with bones of
the pack animals and humans. Goes across upper Shyok river valley.

A trek from Karzok to Kibber across the snow covered Prang la.
The walk is along the Tso Moriri lake to Kyangdom and then one reaches the Pare chu on the second day. Another two days walk brings
one to the base of the pass. Half a days climb and you are at the pass and into Himachal. Kibber is only one and a half days walk away.

Tirthan Valley Trek
The
trek is along the Tirthan river flowing through the GHNP in Himachal Pradesh.
One walks to the glaciers from where the river originates and the trail
passes through Nada thatch which is one very scenic meadow.

Kamet Expedition
The photos of an expedition to Kamet peak in the Garhwal Himalaya in the
Uttarakhand state of India. At 7756 m it is the third highest mountain in India.
The route followed was through the eastern side and Meade's Col, which was used
by Smythe during the first ascent of the mountain.

One walks along the Bhyundar ganga on the way to Ghangaria which is 13 km from Govindghat on the road to Badrinath. The path is well laid out and kept clean.
